I think he is questioning why it’s called flu

 

Identifying the origin of a disease is not racism. It is a critical first step to solve the problem.
So sick of people loosely using that word. Look up the meaning.

 

That is no longer accurate. The HHS/FDA issued new emergency guidance Sunday approving all of these medications for use in fighting the Covid-19. They also announced controlled trials AND are allowing physicians to prescribe them. I linked to this in the other thread yesterday.

 

It's also important in tracking the "patient zeros" so the spread can be better understood. There are some that believe MILLIONS in the US are infected and have been now for months. The ratio of infections to deaths is directly tied to this amount of infections. I suspect once more people are testing these infection rates will grow.

It's the covid19. Get over it

 

The easiest way to win an arguement on the internet: yell racism.

 

I don't believe it is racist to call this virus the Wuhan Virus provided it has been clearly established this is the beginning point. They do this with Ebola. This is named after the Ebola River in today's Congo. They do it with Rocky Mountain spotted fever and they still call a VERY (no cure yet) dangerous form of pneumonia Legionnaires' disease after the bacteria legionella that causes it. This was named for an American legion convention in Philly back in 1976 where a lot of people died. They call one of the Flaviviridae viruses the Zika virus from the Ziika(Zika) forest in Uganda.

For me, I rather just call it the Covid-19 and just keep hoping they find something that will cure it.
