This Arizona state-registered Commercial Driver Apprenticeship Program is an excellent opportunity for newly graduated Class A commercial drivers. This is a very unique program because apprentices will spend most of their time learning in a real-world environment. During the 5 weeks of in-truck training, students will receive personalized one-on-one instruction. Apprentices will learn skills, techniques and advice from multiple highly experienced instructors.

This paid 4-phase program (described in detail below) provides new drivers the training necessary to become experienced in operating a diesel-powered tractor-trailer combination vehicle, both interstate and intrastate, with a capacity of at least 26,000 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) to load, transport, deliver and unload materials, including bulk or palletized products, or materials in liquid, loose, or packaged form.

CFI offers several routes to becoming a professional Regional or Over-the-Road (OTR) driver. If you already hold a CDL with little experience and need to go out with a Finisher (Trainer), we’ll help you start the process.

In my opinion, one safe bet is driving dump trucks or cement trucks for the new Interstate-11.
Infrastructure projects such as the new interstate will probably be safe from layoffs.
Lots of work between Phoenix and Las Vegas right now.
Robertson's opened a terminal in Las Vegas, and probably several other companies out of Phoenix and between Phoenix and Las Vegas.

In a few weeks all of us will have in our hot little hands rapid coronavirus testing it takes five minutes to process across a little strip like a pregnancy test. So I would assume if trainer and trainee both take that test and both are negative, they’re good to hit the road.

One idea that might ensure employment for years to come, is working on Interstate-11.
Follow the interstate construction all the way to the Canadian border.
My uncle, until he retired, did that with pipe lines and always had a high paying job and wasn't stuck in one place too long.
