Those should really be normal everyday rates . Especially in reefer and all the extra bs u guys put up with. Right now i thought u guys would be much higher than that from what ive been hearing of 7 dollar a mile freight .... Still yet to see rate con from those types of claims.......Good luck to u, hope u guys can ride it out and hang on til things get back normal

I don't believe the hype. Rates were down for a while and there's a glut oh trucks on the road.

The only $7/mi loads you're gonna find are 100 miles shorties. contract freight is still the same rate. Spot rate goes with market forces.

Right now rates have tanked. They're out there and you can find them but that's not the market. Some small carrier with a $2000 truck payment and $800 trailer payment and sky high insurance and a company driver to pay is not going to sit for days trying to snag high paying freight. They'll take garbage and push down the rates .

Solo owner operators should know that sitting can be more profitable than just hauling cheap just because it means you're moving .

It's slowed way down on the rate boards for the west coast in the last week. This week was a good one for me only working 4 days and making a bit over $6k, but next week is looking slow. Have a doctor's appointment on Monday (my first teledoc appointment ever) and found a load for Tuesday of Coke on Uber (yuck) for $2.69 per mile up to Portland. Return load from my contract freight already set up. I'm loving the cheap fuel though.which will lessen the pain of paying IFTA and OR taxes as well as my state and fed taxes which are due.

I'm sitting home. Ran 1800 from Oregon empty. got 7.449 mpg running 65. Not many loads for open deck.

I don't carry full set of tarps and most loads wanted to pay $1.20 per mile plus tarp. I seen a couple under a buck a mile and tarped.
I think last week there was only a hand full of loads coming to the Midwest.
Stopped in Montana to visit family along the way. It was a nice ride. Glad I did it.

A customer I haven't pulled for in a couple years called Friday. Local runs should keep me busy for 3-4 weeks, paid when delivered.

Looked at load boards and not much for open deck loads in the Midwest. The loads I see that pay Ok. Go to dead freight areas or to High china virus areas.
I'll stay local for a while or just stay home.

    Good luck to all

From California. Flatbed Freight is dead in California. Been sitting at home for 2 weeks because general loadboards have crappy $1.25/mile rates on mostly heavy 48k loads. Unless you have direct customers, there is nothing to haul. 200 mile radius of Sacramento yield less than 25 loads with InternetTruckstop.

Somewhat recent rate con. Pulling van in northeast. Van rates blow everywhere else right now.

Say no! Lots of short hops still near me. I’m still seeing $600 on 150-200 miles. I might do a couple this week because I get bored sitting but only because that’s what these always pay.

I do agree that sitting is wise if you don’t have bills. No better way for O/O’s to stoke up the market.
