Frat, have you called them? I talked with John two weeks ago and he told me I was good to go. I am a little east of you.

If they turn all the trucks down the bottom goes up. If they can deliver the same freight but save money why would they ever turn them back up?

When freight picks up and there is a lack of drivers again
They will have to increase the speed to get good drivers

    MC,

No....I have not called them. I was pretty much going by their hiring boundaries, however I think I will give them a call and see whats up.

I can pretty much guess a refresher course will be in order. I got my CDL this past April, however am still active duty. I can drop my papers to transition (retire) anytime, though.

Best of luck to you during your orientation.

    R/

    Frat

EDIT: Just GOOGLED Maysville, NC....you and I are practically neighbors...LOL.... we are both definately east of I95.

Companies are already getting rid of problem drivers or drivers who arent doing the job. I doubt TMC is any different. So if all they have is good drivers left and drivers who come on board who have good records and experience are not going to complain about driving a slow truck. It will be quite awhile before there is another driver shortage. Companies have their choice of drivers, It isnt the other way around.

I just got out of the men's department of the Navy.....Marines...lol. And I dont know about the refresher course for you, but they are making me take one. I got my CDL back in 04 while still on active duty. They told me to give Johnston Community College a call. They have a 4 day class if you do need it.

    Fratsit Thanks this.

But I appologize for hijacking the thread. The paying of tolls out of pocket got me started.

Actually Ohio isn't like that anymore as of July 1st, and Illinois is about to change that as well.
That cuts both ways, the more undesirable you make your company to employees or prospective employees the less likely you are to retain or hire the best employees who will be the first to have options. Regardless of how far around the corner the next trucking boom is, people tend to have long memories when they think they have been treated poorly.

Yes it is. Re-read his posts on certain highways. You can only go 65 on interstates.
