One thing about credit cards. If your going to make a large out of the ordinary purchase, just call the card holder and let them know about it. They have very good fraud detection systems in place.
That phone call can keep you from feeling like an idiot, when they hand the card back saying it was declined.
why cant i use credit card & debit card to purchase a truck

As for actual limitations on cards, most credit or debit cards have maximum purchase amounts and/or daily limits, and you would need to talk to your bank about those.
Most auto and truck sales companies don't want to go through all the crap trying to sell a vehicle, only to have a bank turn down the transaction because the purchase amount exceeds the bank-set limits. -
I have different experiences. My Amex customer service number is on my speed dial, the last one was for glasses for my wife, after a year of going back and forth with the cutting of the lenses being screwed up FOUR TIMES, I called Amex and got my money back $900. She got the scriot from the specialist she sees and had them made locally at $600 ... glasses ... what a scam.
The same goes for an autozone battery I bought for my daughters car, the thing crapped out after a year, the receipt was lost thanks to a wind issue (don't open both doors on a windy day) that day. so I I pulled it, brought it back to the store I bought it from and they could not find my name or hers, refusing to honor their warranty on the thing. I called Amex, told them what was going on and they contacted auto-zone who said that there was no transaction under the number the two Amex gave them and I got a full refund plus I used the battery as a core for her new one.Farmerbob1 Thanks this. -
A buddy of mine has bought two cars (new) that I know of with his Amex card. I was physically with him when he bought the first one. The dealer actually charged him an EXTRA 3% to do it that way, but he got back more in rewards and other perks so it made sense, but with Amex you have to pay the balance when the bill comes in. That truck was $33k. The next one he bought was a $76k Raptor...he’s also trying to get the Amex black card, but he has the means to have one too.

Thanks for this information. I got into driving a box truck 2 months back and been very pleased with my paychecks before the last week due to coronavirus. I'm already looking ahead to possibly getting my CDL and buying a truck. What kind of engine were you looking for when you had your 50k saved up?
I drive a 2014 Freightliner m2 106 got the Cummings engine in it. Runs very good!
