I'm looking for efficiency and something that I would be able to work on myself for repairs.

I wonder what’s the purpose of American Express cards, as they don’t appear to be credit cards. Apparently they require a full payment at the end of the month. Maybe someone can shed some light.

Mine is a business card, so I only charge business related expenses on that card as I t makes it easier for my CPA at the end of the year. Many business owners I know do this. It also has perks for discounted or free travel and stuff like that. If your going to pay cash then there really is no difference and you’re getting something “extra”. Some Amex cards will let you carry a balance and pay interest rates as well, but I’ve never used that. They also pre-qualify your business for loans to a certain amount if you need them you just call and get it. The other main reason I did it was to build business credit.

    snowwy and PE_T Thank this.

Difference is he’s not going into debt for more than a few weeks until it was paid in full. He also has stellar credit and could pay cash just as easy, but gets the extra perks for using the card.

Why not just get a loan for it with no prepayment penalties and pay of off over a few months. Be easier on your bank account especially during these uncertain times. Sounds like your credit is good enough if your CC limit is that high.

This is why I have it, I don't want to mess around with crap that I would go through with capital one or Discover.

My credit union has been very good. Unlike the banks.

The only reason I can see, would be the seller being worried about recourse from the Credit card company, if for some reason you decided to dispute charges.

The truck dealer doesn't like credit cards especially because you (cardholder) can dispute the charge, and tie up the dealers money.
If you're doing this for the cashback, might be a waste of time. Depends on how the bank calculates your points, read the fine print.

If you don't have the money to buy a truck, and you think you can buy a truck on the payment plan, I doubt you have enough funds to begin a business with.

maybe you could give us more details
