I don’t know much about the new Trucks, quit paying attention 20 yrs ago. But the resale on the Kenworths got to be better than a Freightliner. Unless there’s a huge price difference of 14k or more, and a big difference in Dealer network.IFreightliner parts network is hard to beat, but sometimes the little guy gets squeezed into waiting while they kiss up to the big fleets. Especially when things are booming. When it’s slow, they all support the 0/0. Paccar engines mpgs I hear are very good, given a full warranty, I’d go with the best mpgs. Regardless of Manufacturer. Not sure I buy Freightliner’s “ Smart” gimmick. Seems to be just that.

He's badly limited himself. He may get a load a bit lighter, but what does it pay? Where does it go?

And where are those truck going? What's his business model? Old POS that's paid for, pull one load, stay at Petro for 4 days, and repeat?
There's several 900's at The Petro in OKC that are there everytime I go there. Every time. I figure they are like that.Linte_Loco, 650cat425, WesternPlains and 4 others Thank this. -
Only reference I have for weight with a van is the '99 Volvo I ran. With the trailer and full of fuel it was right around 34,500lbs. We tried to run loads no more than 43k to make sure we stayed legal on axle weights.Linte_Loco, 650cat425, WesternPlains and 1 other person Thank this. -
My wife’s cousin was a VP at Freightliner. He retired 20+ yrs ago at 50 yrs old. He first introduced the idea of expanding Dealer warranty to a Truckstops network. They didn’t like the idea. A few yrs after he retired they started the program with T/A

I’m at 35050 with half tanks. My trailer is a paper spec, extra cross members. WB is 275. 84” bunk. Trucks only 20@ lbs heavier than my last 70” 265wb. Trailers 400-500# heavier than last one. Also last trailer had 8 aluminums. Vs all steel. Still scale 45k. Last set up 45600, came in handy sometimes. Once gave forklift Driver $20 to throw 2 more bins of melons on, he claimed no one hauls that many. Lol
