I spend a lot of time here reading as I am closing in on obtaining my CDL A (a few more weeks). Attending community college course.
I know that getting hired on as a student driver is tough enough as it is.
Being from FL seems to be even tougher as there are few, if any, companies hiring here, even though I am in the JAX area (NE FL).
Here's my question...are there companies that will hire me if I agree that home time means they agree to get me to Atlanta or Savannah or some other point in, say, GA?
I guess my point is that I am willing to pay the transportation costs to get home to JAX from a location that isn't my home but one easier for the company to get me to (bad english, I know).
Travel is cheap...$99 round trip to ATL from JAX. I would be willing to pay that cost for an opportunity to drive as a student.
Thoughts? Comments?
Live in FL...work from another state...possible?

Well I live in Orlando but I work outta Atlanta so it is possible and the good thing is we have a terminal in winter haven fl so sumtimes if I request and they got the freight they send me there for home time

I drive for Wel Companies and yea dey hire recent grads I just finished the 6 weeks of training and guess where my first load headed.... yep you guess it Orlando and I'll post my exp and my numbers

now my friend i live in orlando but i dont truck out of fl. fl. is not a trucking state a lot going into fl but not much comming out and what there is , is to cheap to fool with and what most will tell you is o its a back haul now ive been trucking with my own trucks for almost 50 years and i still dont no what a back haul is cost just as much going and comming. when i get ready to load i go to atlanta.
now as far as living in fl and working for a company from another state it is done every day you just have to look till you find a company that is right for you and runs i that area so you can make it home .
