And while a lot of you would consider 600 a week low, try looking at it from my perspective. How would you feel about it if you had never had a job that paid more than 7.25 an hour with a maximum of 25 hours per week so the employer could get out of the benefits requirement as well as there being nothing more to get where you live at. I'm one of the lucky few people and I know several other people who left the area of NC I live in because there is no way on God's green earth to make a decent life for yourself there. I want my own place to live wherever it may be and I don't wanna have to answer to anyone on earth for things I do to make my life better. Anyway, sorry for getting mushy.

Just a little curious, you say your average take home is about $850. Is that after the money you should be putting away for taxes, health insurance, maintenance, etc?

If not then you're really only making about $450.

Its all relative to where you come from in life. I wish the OP all the best.

That is after expenses but before taxes. I generally keep about 25% percent of each weekly settlement put side for taxes. I have my direct deposit setup for 25% checking account and 75% percent savings account. In addition, that average is also after my $150 advance each week. I'm making sure that I have a healthy nest egg built up before I stop taking the advances.

What many fail to consider is that as a lease purchase driver, part of your compensation is equity in the truck. This has value so long as you intend to finish the lease term and purchase the truck. If you quit or walk away before completion, you lose all of that equity. If ownership is your goal, it can be worth a smaller "take home" amount each week. If you have no intention of finishing the term and taking ownership of the truck, you're probably better off as a company driver.

@scottied67 intended the same; but when JCT term'd his contract they wanted some 90K balance for the truck, that he'd had for a few YEARS~!. This wasn't his first rodeo; he used to TRAIN for Swift. You really should read up on his posts or check out his vid's. He's doing open deck COMPANY now.

Not trying to 'rain' on your parade... just a reality check for ya. Many (most?) of us been driving 20plus years wouldn't / won't TOUCH a lease.. but ... wish you the best, anyway!
