Why not figure out how to run your own business and not take cheap freight instead of regulating everybody down to your level? You think a shop lowers their rate because somebody thinks it's too expensive, no they send them somewhere else, works the exact same way the other direction.

Can anyone recommend an industry that’s not regulated from top to bottom?
ZVar Thanks this. -
The fuel surcharge doesn’t cover the entire cost of fuel. So by that way of thinking your minimum rate wouldn’t cover operating costs.

Price gouging? and everyone screams murder
broker screwing owner ops? That’s just business.
Come on guys you can’t be serious with this bs. Profits is profit right? -
While we're at it why don't we regulate what a general contractor has to pass on to the electricians and plumbers?Midwest Trucker Thanks this. -
Oh there are some specific regulations like building occupancy and how credit cards are used. For the most part though there are almost no regulations. Definitionally not from top to bottom though. -

The same reason any regulation is put into effect is why brokers need a check. Humans being human. You’ve got to protect them from themselves and other people. Corporations are people too btw, but that’s beside the point. The point is, the market can’t always figure everything out, because the market is humans. You need referees to set bottom lines as far as establishment of safe and fair business environment for the good of everyone. If Brokers are being dirty, they need a ref to throw a flag for the good of the essential industry of truckingLast edited: Apr 25, 2020
