Here's a bit of math for you.
The shipper pays $1,200 to the broker
Broker pays $1,000 to the carrier.

Now, assume all brokers will be gone tomorrow. What will happen?
The shipper will, after a short adjustment period, pay the carrier $1,000. After all, the carrier has proven he will accept that.
Heck, it might not even be them making an extra $200 in savings in shipping. After all, they have to do the work of the broker now.

And one reason shippers like brokers vs their own transportation managers is due to risk management. In today’s sue happy world, If the company trans manager hires a bad carrier who kills someone, guess who gets sued?

Oh, y’all broker haters didn’t think about that did you? The broker now gets sued instead of the shipper. So, now the load maybe will pay $900.
All this #####ing and broker cutting out just caused you to #### on your own nest. LOL

Deere hunter and ZVar Thank this.

Tell that’s story to the court or the lawyer who sued the leasing company of the trailer who leased a trailer to a carrier who sub contracted another carrier to haul it and got into an accident.

if you think lawyers won’t sue shippers then you are mistaken.

Pretty pointless argument, they don't realize that people writing the legislation would be lobbyists paid by the likes of TQL and CHRobbersons.

    Deere hunter Thanks this.

I see the transparency thing going the way of uship. The smart broker will post the info, then take calls saying give me your bottom dollar and I’ll get back to you if you’re the winner. Convoy already does that.

For the ones wanting to cap brokers profit. Have you thought of what would happen when brokers start throwing money at the government? Who do you think has more money CHR,TQL,XPO etc. or OOIDA?
