I've got 2 "old iron" pickups that will still be running long after your 'marro goes to the crusher. And I can perform ANY work on them they could require if I really needed to. Couple of grand every 5 to 10 years to keep them in tip top running order, or 30+ grand for a new car that I will probably have to replace in 10 to 15 years??? Seems a no brainer to me. Not to mention I can't do anything on it cause you have to hook a computer up to it to do ANYTHING more involved than changing the oil.

I want one of those SOOOO badly... But #### they are expensive!

When you do your inverter install use welding leads for the power supply cables. They transmit electricity better than any automotive or stereo wiring on the market, and they will handle more amperage than your truck or inverter could ever throw at them. Most welding supply stores sell it either by the foot or in various precut lengths. When done properly the biggest risk (which is small) of fire is either the batteries or the inverter itself.

Last week I ran my guts out and did 3600 in 5.5 days... Left on Saturday evening and got home Thursday late night.

I can relate to the not sleeping... I'm a night owl. Seems I can run all afternoon and then all night if I need to... But if I start my day in the morning I'm exhausted by 2 in the afternoon.

My east bound loads start with the 150 air mile ag exemption. But the rest of the run is on elogs... In a 67 mph truck. But I'm really good at getting 650-710 miles in eleven hours. I also take full advantage of the split berth rule.

Ive ran as much as 4200 miles in just over 7 days before, all legally logged.

I run from Idaho to the Mid West and back to Idaho every week.

My all time best was 2300 miles in just a few hours under 72 hours (3 days), with ag exemption... Idahofalls, ID to Charlottesville, VA with a stop in Columbus, OH.
