Went to a body shop today.. they do restorations... said they send the vehicle to another business for sandblasting... the whole thing.... then, bring it back for body work... body work? what body work? :biggrin_1square1:hmmmm.... price from beginning to finish would be between $10000.00 and $20000.00.... I walked inside their shop, saw vehicles they were working on... and... :biggrin_25512: :biggrin_25513:

Went back to a body shoop I had visited before... heard good things about them.... but they are too busy till November...:biggrin_1square1:
They said would also sandblast everything... :biggrin_1square1: they call someone who goes there to do it.... price for the restoration job around $12000.00... might take over 3 months...

Everybody very busy here right now cause of damages caused by the tornado... neighborhoods got lots of destruction... houses, vehicles... pretty bad... :biggrin_2552:

Went to a few other places just for the weatherstrip for the back of the vehicle which is damaged and water leaks... Couldn't find anybody yet, no glass place, no body shop that is able to work on that... :biggrin_25512: vehicle is too old...

    weatherstrip.jpg

Went to Chevrolet dealer.. guy said they can get the drip edge for the side of the driver door... it's going to cost $47.00 (which I expected) and it might take 4 weeks to get here if I order... Couldn't find the weatherstrip for the back yet... will try another junk yard... the one went first, didn't have any Chevy Blazers... :biggrin_25512:

Anyway... it's a hassle but somehow I enjoy...

My transporter driver does not like the evil lets play expression that comes over me when I get a hold of a hot little fun car.

40 minutes to piddle out to the dealership. Oh... about maybe 12 minutes back.

You found out which of the cars can really have more top end beyond 120 with a gear still to go. There are some however that are nannied to 124 or so. When you hit it you are thrown forward in your seatbelt. As a rule Nannies will get you between 120 and about 149ish. If you get past that you can open up.

Well not having heavy haul experience, I never pull off the hard surface with my truck unless it's pretty much an emergency, and certainly no place that looks like a swamp.

What is that roll on tow truck for?????

I like it basic and simple... don't need power windows, this and that... the less electronic computerized stuff the easier it is to deal with... and cheaper... :D Also don't need a vehicle that goes 100 something miles fast cause the speed limit is no more than 70 mph wherever I go... My vehicle is heavy... I like it like that.. heavy metal... only problem is the rust... :biggrin_1square1:
