Well I feel like a complete idiot... Stopped to top up my fuel and scale this load. Put nozzle in left tank and started pump, put nozzle in right tank, then walked around to watch pump... Then I smelled lots of diesel smoke, look between sleeper and trailer... To my horror the right nozzle had slipped part way out of the tank and was spraying diesel all over the place including DPF. :biggrin_1square3: Luckily I caught it quickly... Maybe 5 gallons spilled. So now I'm sitting in line at the BB for an undercarriage wash.

    What a night... SMDH

    Thats not too bad.

My very first reefer was like a little wabash thunder or something or other, either a 45 foot strick or utility trailer with a tiny 20 gallon reefer fuel tank.

Its thirsty wants to be fed. Fine. Pulled into Harrisburg 76 above 81 and stuck the high speed nozzle into it and fired it.

I think in about 40 seconds its full and started splasing fuel all over me. By the time I quit fooling with it I was completely covered in fuel, soaked through combined with a 50 dollar bill for the reefer fuel. (I think about 38 gallons, most of that on me)

slosh slosh slosh to the fuel desk.

The laugher that started and grew to consume the entire place essentially leaning on each other, counters and tables and falling on the floor point at me the idiot...

It would be 6 months before I returned. Its a good truckstop but as a newbie that was a real burn experience.

I ended up replacing the clothing. Took almost 100 dollars all in, threw the old ones away. Like to see what the garbage man thought about that soaking his garbage bin...

I currently have 16,639 alerts. I literally pay no attention to that little thing at the top.

Why not just leave it all over the ground so the rest of us can step in it and drag it back into our trucks, and when u go to grab the clutch ur foot slips and rams clear thru the firewall? This is a much better option in my opinion
