I attended orientation April 27-30 , but I turned down the offer .

The information provided by the trainer Mr. Jack was awesome. From the information I got about company was positive, unfortunately my trainer lied and then didn't give me info when I was accepted to attend orientation.

I specifically asked if I would be required to have a drive cam due to my experience, was informed no. Was told no cause my record is clean.

Come Tuesday afternoon, I was presented a letter to sign that I would be required to have a facing drive cam installed for 60 days. I refuse to sign on Tuesday and said I would decide Wednesday and I choose No. Couldn't do it cause I specifically asked recruiter that question and would not have committed if I was informed.

On Wednesday, I was called by another Crete driver who had to have the drive cam . He gave me his feedback and I think slipped that he was only required to have for 30 days . I told him , I'd more then likely commit for just 30 days . He called back the person who asked him to call me and told him that info .
It's now Saturday and we both assume they are not willing to meet in the middle .

Shame cause I think they are a good company to work for

60 days? That's all? If you think that highly of Crete, why didn't you just tough out the 60 days?

Ahhhhh. I don't know man. I've heard great things about Crete from previous drivers. It is understandable from their standpoint. 60 days with a driver facing camera would have been a small price for me to pay to work for good, stable carrier but hey, everyone is different. What is your next move?

This is the first I have heard of accident-free /ticket-free drivers being required to have a drive cam installed. I never had one when I was a company driver.

Some companies use drive cams as a requirement. Jbs carriers is everyone. Marten only uses forward facing cams, not driver facing

I understand that. I was a Crete company driver for a couple years, and now lease my truck to them as an o/o for the last 15 months or so.

While I was a company driver, the policy was no driver facing camera unless you screwed up and got a ticket or got in an accident, and even then not every accident.

When I scraped the hood mirror off another truck in a really tight dock as a company driver, I had to take a company safety class, but did not have a driver facing cam installed.

Currently, the Peoplegarbage machines installed in our trucks have driver facing cameras that are supposed to be disabled. I covered mine with electrical tape just in case, and nobody has complained at me.
