    Hey everybody,

I just got a call from the guys at DriveELD (I've referred a few people to them, so I guess they like me enough now to tell me this stuff) and they told me that they're offering a 10% off coupon for covid relief and former VDO owners. The code is "RELIEF10," and it's for 10% off the entire bill for the first year. They did tell me it'll expire in June though.

I've been using them for the better part of a year now and I have pretty much no complaints. I've had to edit my log here and there, but I've had no problem doing it. IFTA works great too. If you have any questions about it, I wrote a big review and answered a few questions on them in this forum, which I'll link here. And here's their website DriveELD: Easy, Low Cost, Reliable ELD Compliance . I hope ya'll are staying safe and still running!

My buddy who's switching from VDO said he's been getting emails and calls from them too. Not sure if it's a buyout, but maybe VDO is getting money for every customer they convert to KT. Not sure though.

It sucks that we have to get another one the vdo ran flawless I just hope drive eld does. And do you run yours on the phone or with a tablet.

I use my phone most of the time, but I have a tablet I'll use if my phone is about to die. Both work well.

I'm looking at getting a tablet with its own cell service so it can stay with the truck and not use any of my phone data or is that over kill.

Eh, it's up to you on that one. You'd probably be fine using just the phone unless it's super old. I like using the ipad just fine, but I default to my phone since it takes less space. If you don't mind using your own cell service, I'd just do that.

Also, look at a cheap android phone and prepaid service from a place like Walmart. Might be the least expensive option, plus you can use that phone for all the tracking apps like micropoint. Keeps it separate from your personal and work. Can get the phone for less than $100, and monthly prepaid data @500MB for $15.

For reference Keeptrucking's FAQ states it uses about 100MB a month for ELD function.
