If this is not a violation of Sherman Williams Anti-trust Act I don’t know what is. Now I know why the protesters In DC are in this is for so long.

Because SHIPPERS are looking for the cheapest trucks too. Its not just brokers hoarding a pot of generous shipper gold all to themselves.

Sometimes, that really is 'all they got in it.'

"All they got in it" is different from that's all they want to give.

Never believed that anytime I was told that cause before I hang up, sometimes it turns into, "what will it take" for me to do it.

Doesn’t that deal with monopolies? As long as there are options for truckers it isn’t a monopoly.

Cartels are the same as monopolies. And the way brokers collude with each other creates cartels.

But nobody has to use them if they don’t want to.

I try not to use them, but sometimes I have no choice. Do you really think DOJ would be quiet if there was a written agreement between ATA members on the way how to skirt existing laws?

Not every broker is a member of the TIA. Truckers don’t have to use brokers. So it’s tough to argue that it’s a monopoly.

The government won’t say there’s collusion when 4 companies control the cattle market in this country so I doubt they’ll get much done when brokers don’t amount to that much to the trucking industry.
