I was wondering what kind of a CB would work in my situation. I deliver trucks for a local dealership up and down the east coast. I physically drive the trucks to their drop off point and fly back. I am looking for a CB that I could use while on the road. I can’t wire them into the truck and would have to be able to take it on the flight back. Not sure if there is anything out there and if so, would it even work well enough to hear anyone or them to hear me. Thanks for any input.
What CB to use?

Bag phone type...Get you a bag or briefcase, stick a small cb inside, something like a Uniden 520xl, and a magnetic antenna, then just pull it out, plug into a cigarette lighter port and your good to go...Just set the radio in the seat next to you or leave in the briefcase or bag...Not the best of set-ups, but will work. I knew a guy who use to travel quite a bit and this is what he did...He even had a small little 50w amp inside the case for a little extra kick.

They have handheld ones. No idea if it works very good or not

This Midland is what I used in the almost exact situation you described: https://www.amazon.com/Midland-75-822-Channel-CB-Way-Radio/dp/B00000K2YR
You will need an external antenna. I used a mag-mount Little Wil. When I packed my bags I'd bend the whip into a U shape to fit my backpack. The included rubber ducky antenna is not adequate -

Uniden bearcat 880/980 the 980 has Added SSB

I use a Cobra 50WXST handheld and have a magnetic roof mount antenna. It works ok with the 10" antenna I have but I am thinking of getting a longer one if I can find one I like.
I don't know if there is a CB out there with a skip channel feature but it would be worth the money if there is one.stacks Thanks this.
