Actually in my view, that flexibility loosens up $2-400 a day in additional revenue that would have otherwise been stressful. Less racing the 14 and pushing straight through rush hour as fast as possible. Maybe I'm too hopeful in how it rolls out in real life?

I agree. A loading or unloading delay is now 2 relaxed hours in the sleeper , cooking a snack, reading a book or taking a nap, with no change in hours on the 14. That's nice....

The biggest change should be the 34 hour reset.
I get zero sleep at the tail end and suffer the next day.
If only we could do a 17, get our 14, then follow with another 17..
I’d get so much more rest..

No my company just plans me correctly and knows how i run, i don't have to refuse anything....unless it doesn't fit with my hours.....in trucking u sometimes gotta learn to say no to things you know you arent able to do.....i can drive overnight but its not my best and usually i end up taking a nap......so to me its better trying to get loads that fit my body clock if possible....

There hasn't been a HOS change proposed in the 25 years I've been in this industry that the Teamsters and/or Crash and/or Public Safety or the like, hasn't challenged the feds in court. I didn't expect it to go unchallenged this time either.

They definitely afraid of the 150 mile short haul extension taking away from their business.

Exactly what I was thinking. But this may backfire... truckers may actually do their 30 minute breaks at the fuel station, holding up drivers that are wanting to pull out of the island.
