I live in the Memphis TN area. Trying to find out the best way to get loads hauling fuel. I currently haul fuel as a company driver. Would it be best to run under another company or can you get loads under your own authority pretty easy and how would you go about getting those loads elsewhere?

You don't see many O/O's hauling gasoline. I would suspect that the high cost of bonding and insurance just are too high. The last time (1999) you had to carrier a $2 million dollar bond just to get loaded.

Hauling fuel as an O/O is not worth it IMO. It’s a hustle to do extra load. I’ve done it for 6 months and some loads are dirt cheap( Speedway/Marathon). We had a lot of cross drops because guys were trying to hurry up and chase another load. Long days, it was seldom for me fo finish under 13 hrs almost every day. Being a company driver hauling fuel is better option if you’re working for a good company.

How are you getting loads? Are you leased to a company or call and broker your own loads?

I would get loads from dispatch from the company I was leased on to.
