I can't find any of the things I want to know in a "search". Can anyone tell me where I can find one? Like the stand shift of a car is basically like an H. So what does the 18 wheelers look like? I watched a video but no close up of the gear nob so I still can't find the layout. If I'm real lucky, maybe it's just like an H only more of them, LOL!
dang! Want a diagram of standard shift

My 9 speed is an H pattern...1 thru 4 just like in a car, and then you flip the splitter up into high range and repeat the pattern for 5 thru 8.

Thanks Bowles, wooohooooooo! -
This is different for a 10 speed though. 1-5 would start from the lower left, then H pattern. Depending on the exact circumstances, I skip 1 a lot of the time and start in 2, or even 3 when empty or really light. Flip the range switch, then repeat for 6-10. The 5-6 shift took some getting used to for me.

i did this in paint so it looks like ####
these are the 2 main gear patterns i drive, we also got some 8 speeds but there real easy
on the 10 speed you go through the gear pattern, the top number being the low range, then you flip the high low selector up and go through it again, and the bottom number is the high range
on the super 10s the high low selector is on the side, if its flipped back its low range and flipped foward its high range......and everytime u move the stick to upshift u gotta flip the switch back right before you shift, unless u want to skip a gear
super 10s are a lil different but now that im use to them i kind of like themDucks Thanks this. -

u can start out in 3rd gear, 1st and 2nd only if your real heavy or on a hill or both -
Granny gear?

The answer is yes, basically a H pattern, with a few little variances-BUT YES A H !!!!

Thank you and that's a first, I see whats goin on. You use that "switch range" button or whatever, and then the same gears turn into another set?? Wow, that is so cool and doesn't sound real hard. I mean to actually do it will be no doubt, at first, but it makes great sense! A person could really get worn out shifting through all of those though. I'm sure there must be some shortcuts in certain appropriate situations? I hope, since my arms are getting sore just looking at the diagram, LOL!! Thank you again for that, it's way better than I could have done on such short notice
I use paint too, but also, paintnet is a free program with a few more cool options if you want
