Hello everyone, I started having this issue yesterday where I have the information warning come on and high oil temperature. I thought it maybe because it’s around the time I need oil change I changed my oil and still my oil temperature is going above 270 Fahrenheit
And stop warning ligh comes on and truck looses power and after stopping shuts off.

I am not a D13 aficionado so I should keep my mouth shut. But, if your water temp is not high. Temp your oil pan with a infrared thermometer, see if its similar to what the sensor is reporting. If you feel like throwing parts, I would say replace oil temp sensor first. If that doesnt fix your issue, you have a plugged up oil cooler or a spun bearing causing all the heat.

Prepare to lose a rod bearing. Oil temp high, coolant normal.....

When a rod bearing is hurt, it heats up the metal, thus heating up the oil. The coolant won't reflect that in some cases. What do you consider running hot as far as oil temp?

I replaced the piston jet cooler and cleaned the oil separator with brake cleaner and the truck has been running fine with heavy load no problems 2nd day
