Hello and good morning all. I currently run propane locally, working a schedule of 4-10s. I have been considering working a second, part-time local driving job to simply just occupy my 3 days off.(single no kids so dont have much else to do in my free time). Has anyone else done this? I understand not being able to run outside my hours on my log. If both jobs run different elogs, would i then record all hours on a paper log for DOT purposes? any input, opinions, or advice? Thanks much

    1) Perhaps you could get a part-time job outside of driving, as a warehouseman in a warehouse, grocery clerk in a supermarket, or a clerical worker in an office.
    2) This way, IRT #1, you don't run the risk of driving beyond your legally allotted hours.
    3) What you could also do is get out of driving altogether, and get one job that pays lots of overtime, or 2 part-time jobs that would fill up all your waking hours.
    4) This way, IRT #3, you don't ever have to worry about logs whatsoever.

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

yeah you're "second" job will have to be documented to account for hours used. Your propane job is probably not logged, assuming you're local under 100 mi/day, but even so, you must account for hours driven especially hauling HAZ.

Any job that doesnt involve driving would have to be logged on line 4 "on duty, not driving". That would still count against your 70 hr clock

For your second job, get one of those "Cash under the table" types and you won't have to log any of it.
