but not everyone went out and got their own authority and their own truck when they don't know how to check their oil.

I like rob, I don't want hime to fail. I think he works hard and he's got balls of steel. But it was never a good idea and we told him that up front before he got into it.
I went straight into my own truck when I started but I ran team with my old man for almost a year first. plus I had been around trucks my entire life.

I rarely have anything nice to say but I say a whole lot.

the purpose of th thread is not to blindly support Pharm. the purpose is to chronical his experience so others can learn from it. i'm not going to sit here and tell the guy everythings good, everythings fine, have a coke and a smile and shut the #### up!! And i'm sure he doesn't want to hear it. I know I for one can not STAND the ever cheerful people.... SOmtimes #### sucks and that's the way it is plain and simple. Rob is screwed right now! if he makes it through it then great, if not... well who knows. he's resiliant and persistant as you can get... mabey mores then myself even. SO i'm sure he will regroup and try over.
I have yet to ever meet an owner op that has never had to start over at some point. why do you think truck loans are automaticly high risk loans?

Rob, how long before you lift do you throw the splitter button? If you through it way ahead it can result in damage, bent rods ect. Range selectors have a safety delay in they only pressurize in neutral. Splitters pressurize when flipped?

Drop the trailer, and move the truck and see if you can get it into either side of the split, then leave it there. Tape the button in that position and bobtail to help.

Bobtail you can run in either side of the split just fine. You can often get a tranny to shift if you move the gears a bit.

was anything done to the transmission while the motor mount and that exhaust were getting worked on? was it looked over to make sure a seal wasn't leaking? i'm not sure how far exactly it was driven while the driveline was out of alingment but a seal could have gotten damaged in that short distance and started leaking.. and then once it was on the hook going to the shop it could have leaked most if not all of the fluid out.

He may have been harsh, but he said things some of the drivers on here have not had the balls to say...

:biggrin_2556: Open our eyes when you drive for crying out loud. I have seen demolition derby cars with less damage...

Ain't nothing wrong with Rob, I get a kick out of some of the stuff he posts and he seems okay. I just don't see it as a wise decision to jump in the ocean when you lack the ability to swim.

Something tells me that guy who posted that has been here before... may not have been, but I kind of wonder about it.

i'm guessing rob's truck didn't come with some sort of owner's manual. something similar to what cars come with. for preventive maintance. anyone know what engine rob has and i'll see if there isn't something on the internet he can read when he has time. some sort of maintanace information that might help him on his truck.

granted it's not wise to swim in the ocean if you can't swim. but the man is doing something HE WANTS to do. and learning it on his own. that's not an easy thing to do. and if everybody listened to everyone telling them no. then no one would do anything they wanted to do in life. nor would they learn.

Ahhh... ok.... So Rob is stuck in a scale house.... has no idea where to go from here. He's stressed and upset. So now is the time to tell him he never should have done this? Come on Al. We all know things would've could've should've been different/better. Maybe he shouldn't have gotten into this venture. But Now is not the time to harp on him. Showing support and blindly supporting are two different things. Let the guy get out of the scale house then tell him how he's running the price of freight down and hurting others. I would think you of all people would understand. People supported you when lots of guys were saying throw in the towel. Rob may not be mechanically inclined but you seriously lack money management skills and we still support and care about you.

Yes ,the Transmission Fluid was checked. Mainly because of a concern of coolant in the transmission due to unidentifible oil/lube in radiator. His Transmission runs a heat exchanger, which is cooled via engine coolant, instead of the nornmal air cooled trans cooler.
