Hello everyone,
A buyer who i kind of knew came with a mechanic to check out my truck and gave me a deposit. He showed a lot of interest and wanted the truck to be on the road fast. A week later, I delivered the truck and received a cheque (not certified, my fault). Because the truck was financed, i had to first pay off the loan. He asked me to transfer the truck to my company so that he could transfer to his after. I did that and dropped off the new ownership. The same day he put a stop payment on the cheque. Next day he made some excuses and said he does not want the truck. Now, the truck has been with him for almost a week, I am afraid what if he might have done something.
I fulfilled my side of the deal and he is now not paying.
What should I do? I thought about sending a small court claim letter. If he does not pay next week.
Sold a truck, received a cheque and buyer backed out
