Truck Load Rates Halt 8 Week Slide 2.0

Ran into a guy at my steady run out of North jersey. He's been doing the same run (using same broker as us) for 3 years. That makes me feel good. They're the type of ppl who'd rather pay a bit more so they can sleep at night

So the broker we were dealing with on my outbound load ended up going elsewhere. We got assigned a new agent who immediately asked if we could budge on the rate. Told him no. Been almost 2 weeks since we've pulled a load out of there.

Few days ago we got an email from the agent at GTZ saying he's been covering it for 575 when we're getting 700! I know before i said we weren't going to go behind their back and take the account.

Now it's game on. How much more greedy can they get. Im betting they're getting 900-1000. 850 at bare min. The 1st load i pulled out of there had screwed up times so they gave me 800

Wednesday- both trucks booked 1216 on 348mi. Ran this load a bunch of times. Paying 200 more than it did 6 months ago. Good sign

I remember in 2018 those fireworks loads were offering very good money, like $4k on 500 miles

 

Dang, where do I find those? My DM’s are open. lol

 

I think those are usually contracted, in 2018 they just overflowed to spot market
