It gets better. Trust me. Lol. This industry throws you in the deep end off the bat. It's why only 15 percent make it. You seem to handle things well. It does get better though.
I messed up. I messed up bad.

That is why I Always double check the seal numbers on our tankers against the paperwork. Has saved me from pulling wrong trailers that had similar trailer numbers.
When in doubt dealing with multiple drops and pickups of trailers I call dispatch and ask them to explain like I am a 5 year old what they want done
Tough to do at 3am .magoo68, rabbiporkchop, bryan21384 and 3 others Thank this. -

All joking aside..As the others said...bet you won't do it again.
Try not to be to hard on yourself. We all make mistakes. Not like you took out a bridge or anything.
Sirscrapntruckalot - All in good fun.Dale thompson, bryan21384 and Badmon Thank this. -
It happens man.....I remember I took a blind shipment to the actual address on the BOL when I was breaking in. I didn't know what a blind shipment was, and then I had 2 different BOLs lol. Live, learn, pay close attention to detail.
Lite bug, D.Tibbitt, motocross25 and 1 other person Thank this. -
You may get billed for the miles to return that trailer to where it goes... We had someone pull the wrong trailer for 500 miles. It got relayed and that drive pulled it for 200 miles. I got the joy of returning it to the plant it came from and those drivers didn't get paid.
Sirscrapntruckalot Thanks this. -
Did something like that picked up outta Texarkana and took it all the way to Indiana. Surprisingly they accepted it and didn’t think twice about it. Got a call from dispatch Monday morning saying my load was suppose to Grand Prairie TX
rabbiporkchop Thanks this. -
As long as you don't hit anything you are gold.
Even I made a mistake once. Started heading to the receiver instead of the shipper. Realized it after a hundred miles.D.Tibbitt and rabbiporkchop Thank this. -

We had a driver once that picked up a trailer to take to (city). He assumed it was a regular customer in that city.... a recycler. So he took it to the recycler, they accepted it & shredded it. Later that day, the company called about their load of cardboard. Contacted the driver........ uh oh!
An entire 18 wheeler load of freshly produced cardboard.... shredded.
So, at least it wasn't as bad as it could have been driver.Midwest Trucker, Lumper Humper, blairandgretchen and 7 others Thank this. -
D'OH!! It happens, but not more than once, I hope. I never did that, but a guy where I worked once, got his dispatch the night before, during the night, the dock switched trailers, next morning ( 3am) this guy hooks on to his original dispatch, runs all the way to Milwaukee, ( about 75 miles),gets to his 1st stop, I'd have loved to see that guys face when he opened the door with an empty trailer. Man, we laughed about that. The boss wasn't too happy. We said, didn't you notice you had an empty wagon? In honor of what buddyd sez,,, that was pretty stupid.
