May depend on the year, this rear brake info is from the 2017 chart:
    3500: 358 x 34 (14.1 x 1.3)
    4500/5500: 390 x 39 (15.3 x 1.5)

Chatting with an "expert" on realtruck.com right now. He is checking if the 2018 and 2019 use the same pads

I don't know what kind of brakes you spec'd the wagon with, but I'm guessing not EoH disc.? Only guessing, because between my g56 standard trans, stock exhaust brake, & electric over hydraulic on the wagon, that sob could stop.! Never even thought about needing extra..

The dexter 10kHD, & 12k's have the same setup if spec'd with disc. They have monster stopping power. For what it is, I sold my ram with the oe brake pads @240,××× miles. Also traded in the Loadmax with the oe pads still on there. Around 250,xxx miles between the 2 trucks I pulled it with. Definitely worth the added upfront expense IMO.

I have electric drum brakes on the trailer. I set it low to 1.5. They have a strong bite and work well. How hard do you want the trailer to stop? It jerks me to a stop if i set it to 2. And if the trailer is empty and on 2 it locks the wheels.
My truck is at 70k miles and I heard a bit of squeeling friday coming home and I heard its difficult to find pads for my truck so just want to have them handy to avoid downtime if and when the pads need replacing.
I use my exhaust brake all the time even when bobtail. I hope the pads are still fine and i can get to over 200k on them before they need replacing. I'll try to set my trailer brakes wo stop a little better.

Got my layover ramps today. Having a bit of trouble with low cars going up the ramps and going up the angle in the front.

1.5 -2 on the brake controller gain setting!! Woah. Thats way different than how mine liked to run..

So in the my Ram, there was 4 different brake types listed in the setting menu.
    Light electric or Heavy electric
    Light EoH or Heavy EoH
Mine worked best on Heavy EoH, guessing because that's what brakes my trailer had.? I'd run it at 3.0-3.5 empty & raise the gain from there. Maybe 8.0 is the highest I ever needed. They worked quite synchronous with the truck actually. No bite, like I was being pulled back by the trailer. But if I felt the trailer push me, I'd bump the gain up till it felt in sync again. Probably why I never needed brakes. They were all doing their job equally I'd suspect..

I put a Tekonsha p3 controller in my Shaker. It too has electric & EoH option. Then light, med, or heavy trailer. Then gain..
Its gain goes to 15.0, the rams only went to 10.0. Even more adjustability. That one I ran 6.5-7.0 empty, maybe 12.0-12.5 when really heavy on the trailer axles. Again, trailer never really pulled me back, unless after unloading I forgot to adjust the gain back down.. LoL That was always a fun wake up at the first stop sign..

I pulled a few straight electric brake trailers as well. They worked ok. But I don't remember them jerking me to a stop, or locking the trailer axles at such a low gain as 1.5-2.0. I wonder if your controller is putting out too much voltage.? Or both mine were too low.? Hmmm.. I don't know..

The wedge i had was pure garbage. I needed it at 5 empty and 7+ loaded and it would barely help me stop.
Yea the truck is on the heavy electric setting. I was amazed at the bite at 2. When i hooked up i was still at 5 setting since i haven't changed it since selling the wedge. Whiplash just from stopping at the end of the dealership :D.
I was picking up a car at a chrysler/ram/dodge dealer and the mechanic came out to me and asked if he could measure the trailer brake output cause he had a guy with an RV complaining about no brakes on the RV and the mechanic couldn't figure out if it was the truck or the RV's fault. Anyway, he measured all the way to 10 and said my output was excellent. I have heard that some rams have issue with brake signal output straight from the factory.
