What’s so great about increasing fuel pressure? I put the Acert check valve and see around 100-110 fuel pressure. Better MPG or performance?

None really unless you had low pressure before. My opinion anything below 75 lbs. 110 is OK. Anytime you start going over 120 the chance of eroding injector o-rings increase. Also higher pressure heats up your fuel and you can "cook" your fuel. I hear of folks claiming upwards of 160 lbs. And then later on they wonder why injectors start failing. I run between 80 at idle and 100 at high idle (1500 rpm)

I drove down the road and my fuel was hot. And it was only about a mile or so.

You have to realize, the fuel runs through the head. Its going to pickup some residual heat. Now raise the pressure and holding that fuel in the head longer and trying to "push" it out under higher pressure is going to pickup and create more heat. I run a modified engine pulling high gross weights 120000 lbs to 154000 lbs. And I only have two 100 gal tanks. Averaging 3 to 4 mpg pulling that weight i have to run a fuel cooler on my return fuel line so I don't "coke" the fuel.

Does cooler fuel atomize better? If so how did you set that up with any parts numbers you can send?

I just bought a hydraulic cooler at my local hydraulic store and plumbed it into my return fuel line I mounted it in front of radiator along side trans cooler. Eaton sells an air cooler for their trans that works well for the fuel.

    anthonyar4 Thanks this.
