Where are the best places to get truck service while on the road? I drive a Freightliner; should I get service at the authorized Freightliner shops, or can I use the Loves and others? Thanks.

This is a question better suited for the Owner-Operator forum. If you are not an OO then this is a decision your company will make. Most carriers have national service contracts. My last carrier used TA/Petros for this service.

Sometimes you don't have a choice if youbreakdown out there. I would also recommend if you have a Cat engine that needs work you go to a Cat shop. Instead of freightliner or T/A

The difference between a good mechanic and a not so good can be explained in this example.
A chain oil and grease facility, rounded all 4 bolts on a u joint. Another truck serviced at a similar facility doesn't check u joints for wear or one being loose.A good shop may charge more but they will find things like that.
