97 International tri axle dump truck bounces consistently. Thought maybe it was tires so replaced all 10 tires and the bounce got WORSE! It is not the death wobble. Kingpins good, tire rods good, leak springs good, whole front end checked and all good. There is a little play in one of the U joints. Had wife take a video driving behind me and it doesn't look like it is coming from the rear end. It bounces from all gears and speeds. Tried putting it in neutral and it still was hopping. Taking it back to the tire place in 4 days. They are closed for the 4th of july weekend of course. Anyone have suggestions on what I can do to try to figure this bounce out before I can bring it back to the tire place?

Can you post the video? Check cab mounts. Do you feel anything in the stick? Do you have bud wheels? How about the shocks, are they new?

Put the backend on jack stands and check the runout on your tires.

If you have hub pilot wheels you could buy the Trubalance sleeves and get everything centered on the hubs.

Hendrickson walking beam suspension, front drive tires are cosmo and the back 8 are transporters from turkey. The shocks are all original 97 international. Don’t think it’s the shocks though.

What boggles me is putting all new tires on it made it 10X worse! The front was all check at the mechanic and was good. There is a semi loose U bolt that has a little play in it when I pull the driveshaft up and down. We tightened the cab mounts down more and didn’t help. I just don’t want to keep throwing money at this old b**** if I can pinpoint the problem!

Wait a minute.... The shocks are original 1997! 23 year old shocks, and you have a bounce! REPLACE the shocks!!!!
