Best look'in one i have ever seen. Took a pic of one of their trucks a few years back..think in Buffalo Ny. Waited till the driver walked in. The right front steer tire was as smooth as a table top. Think i had my flip phone then. Mayby they run better tires these days.

If you need health insurance really look into it. Not sure if it's still the same but they used to provide Cherokee insurance. Good luck finding a doctor outside of Detroit that is in network.

    STAY AWAY...!!

    i didn't really work there.

but I DID GO on a run with a driver, to see the route, i would be doing.

    I HATED EVERYTHING about them.

back then, they paid on a 1099....i think i heard as a few years ago, the pay on a W2

they had Cherokee insurance, good luck getting something done with that

    the equipment was JUNK

worse part was, when we got back to the home terminal, i walked away, told them to shove it.

and from there, they DAC'd me as an o/o...??? like WTF..??

then i went back and forth with DAC and ....then they DAC'd me as a driver..??? like wtf..????

a gal in the safety office actually helped me, she over-rode the safety guy and erased any DAC report.. she said THEY ALWAYS DO THAT CRAP....

    STAY THE HELL AWAY....!!!!!!

given your propensity to moan, and groan, and complain about everything as it is now.......you'll be a dam broken record here doing it all over again....

My buddy went for an interview at a Chicagoland location a while back. Was already in awe of how crappy the building was then he saw the forklifts that looked like they were from the early 80’s..... He ended up getting back in his car and leaving. BUT the worst LTL is better than any mega OTR.

    but why work in misery..??

a company like CT is not better to be working at, than a mega.

Most of their forklifts are from GM scrap piles. Trailer roofs patched with placards and if pay attention they have to tie the trailer doors shut because the latches are broken.

around the midwest i’d give worst equipment to holland/yrc. trucks and trailers both. terrible. most of the central trailers look like junk but at least the tractors i see around here are decent.

op: if you are looking to get into LTL, i’d pick a different carrier. central is where you go when you lose your job at ups.

Actually, I can back this up. Before I knew a lot about LTL, I applied at CT. I was turned down because they hired a guy who had X years at UPS...

...now I wonder, "Why did that guy leave a sweet overpaid union gig to work for your ghetto-arse company?"

The Owner just died. They’re still privately held, as far as I know. Sure to be a lot of changes, in the future. Not sure if I’d want to be working for them right now. It’s one thing, if just needing a decent check, but wouldn’t count on a Career.
