I posted this in the wrong thread, “well boys it looks like the coils won this time, I’m just not up for the task right now; I’m tired, stressed out and that usually goes along with a bit of depression lol I’m waiting for someone to unload me, after getting checked out by someone here and I’m being watched by a very nice lady who brought me some cold water haha I’mready to go to bed, even more so, home.”

20,000-39,999 lb coil. I think this one was 28,000 lb. Before the coil goes on the deck, the hooks are already in the j hooks, ready to throw the the eye. Hook the binders and go back to put the edge protectors. Crank it down, put the bows back and pull the tarp over.

Working in high heat environments can be difficult. You really need to learn and watch for sings of heat stress and dehydration. It can happen very quickly.

Keeping water and something like Gatorade close at hand are good ideas. Drink equal parts water to Gatorade. Stop and take a drink about every 10 to 15 minutes. Don’t need a lot, just a good shot.

Also consider some of the evaporative cooling towels or bandannas, they work. All you do is soak with water for a few minutes. You can find a bunch for cheap on amazon. They will fit and work under a hard hat.

Which binders are better? Snap binders or ratchet binders? What are the advantages/disadvantages of each? Asking for a friend...

^^^^^this I ain’t buying. I have some 8’ beveled lumber I made ( because you can’t buy it) I also have some 6’ beveled lumber. I am not using the 8’ lumber for a suicidal coil anymore. If the lumber moves under a coil, you got a bigger problem than the length of the lumber.
