Went over my 11 hour drive time for the first time today, got wrecked by traffic towards the end of my trip. Went over by 15 minutes.
Is there hope or am I going to get a fat $$$ ticket if I'm inspected at the weigh station?

Typically and I say typically because you never know you might get a real anal DOT officer, but usually they’re looking for a pattern of you going over. If you go over by a few minutes a few times per year, usually 99% of the time nothing will come of that. It happens. Mostly they’re checking to make sure you’re logging things correctly and not trying to pad your hours.
That said, There’s always that outside chance you could run in to an officer who would write you a citation for that. Make sure you have a really good explanation for the 15 minutes.farmerjohn64, Canadianhauler21 and Bean Jr. Thank this. -
I would drive to the closest chicken coop and turn myself in. But that’s just me.

I'd be more concerned with your company checking your logs than DOT.

Tie yourself to the whipping post , someone will be there to beat you shortly.

If it was caused by an unexpected, unusual, unavoidable traffic circumstance (say an accident shuts down the road for an hour) make an annotation about what, when and where and “adverse conditions”.
might not get by with it, but it’s a legit claim.autopaint, Canadianhauler21 and Bean Jr. Thank this. -
I wouldnt worry about it to be honest. If u do get inspected just be honest with the inspector. More often then not they will understand
