Don’t stress about it. If it’s your first time your company probably won’t come down on you too hard. Most likely you’ll get a talking to and get told not to do it again and will be told what will happen if it becomes a pattern etc. All this is assuming they find out about it.
If you happen to roll thru a scale and get stopped for an inspection, just be honest if the officer asks you about it.

Why are you pushing to the end of your hours rather than looking for a landing spot with a couple of hours to spare?

Because some of us actually have to work we don't have a couple hours to waste every day. That would be my take on it anyway.

I soo hated that when I got my first offense.

I had to do 100 hours of community service at the weigh station I got busted at.

Worst part about it was it was August in Florida

Man you guys are Brutal tonight.

My last week I worked hauling milk my company sent me on a 650 milk run to bumsuck Minnesota that need to be covered and was to be unloaded that night.

I had a important dentist appointment that had to be met 2 days later in the am that had been rescheduled 2 times prior with no other appointments in site and daily tooth aches .

North of Wisconsin I ran into a big wreck and my drive clock was ticking down with no rest stop or exit in site and I was starting to eat my onduty clock also ,

Well as I was stopped in traffic I switched to on duty off driving to save my clock as I set on the shoulder

Well soon as traffic started moving I jumped back on the road than it came to a halt again.

Safety had a lenient drive set on our tablets and I never kicked up to the drive line so I crept along for 2 hours on duty off drive.

Safety never caught on but if I ever got an inspection maybe they would have.

Only inspection I got in 15 months is when me and 3 other Milkies got busted at the end of 31 at a newly non working construction zone

Work Loved that Award I got when I showed them that

Toilet duty at the Yard for 3 months unpaid after they fired me.

Ever did meet my dentist appointment bing I set up at that dairy for 2 days with my load getting rejected before I finally hauled it all the way back home to be unloaded again.

Sounds like (a) poor trip planning and (b) not paying attention.

    Oh come on.

Have you never been Frozen in traffic.

I got caught around Milwaukee Wisconsin on 294 once with nothing around for stops and nowhere to go with 1.5 hours left on my clock

I drove an hour over my clock to get to a available truck stop once the traffic started moving again.

Once I got into the truck stop we were all crammed in there like sardines, and most of us were over our clocks.

For once Pilot didn’t give a Krap the way we were parked on top of each other and we all acted civilized.

The next morning the guys on the outer layer were cooperative and let the guys stuck in back out to the pumps

It was Nice to see all the cooperation

Dumb new kid in safety read me the riot act. I said fine. Next time I’ll do my 10 on the side of the highway when I’m stuck like that.

    Krap happens

I have had 1 occasion where my time ran out; I-80 wintertime with over 100 vehicles involved in the crash, other than that no. If you're running out of hours you didn't plan well enough unless it's something major.

So when your best laid plans go up in smoke because the whole highway is shut down for hours what do you do?

Choose the backroads that put you a 100 miles and hours out of route?

I have chosen that plan a few times going up 65.

    @SoulScream84

    Trip plan this then...

Pick up load on Sunday at 1000 MST in Idahofalls, ID. Delivery is on Wednesday 0500 EST in Wilder, KY. Your truck is governed at 67 mph, and no parking at reciever. Please do tell me how you arent going to be running your clock down to 30 mins or less.

Like @tommymonza said... Sometimes crap happens!
