anybody else have a new prostar with the great battery powered apu?
If I plug in my invertor to my fully charged laptop it'll run for about an hour and then the invertor beeps the low voltage beep. (with the apu off) then the apu won't come on because the batteries are too low, I drove an hour and a half and the apu still won't kick on.
And the steering wheel buttons, whew!!!
I feel like Helen Keller trying to find the unlit buttons on the pitch black steering wheel at night. I'm flashing my marker lights, blowing the air horn and adjusting the radio trying to find that **** jake brake button. Another guy on the cb in a prostar said he had his truck since March and still can't find anything. The headlight switch is somewhere behind the steering wheel, totally hid. Now my voltage is low, I been plugged in about 15 minutes now. BEEP!!!!
Now the seat in this truck is super great,it massages my back,my only complaint is it needs a vibrater in the bottom seat cushion to bickle my talls.
    :)
    BEEP!!!! goes the invertor ARRGH!!!
My qualcom won't talk to me and doesn't have the EOBR. :) I have the OnGuard collision warning system, it's really neat. BEEP!!!!!!!
I"m going to search for a busbar in here so I can have some strong voltage to power this laptop and my cb. Anybody find one yet? On the Freightshaker it was up under the dash, I could run the laptop for about 4 hours before it got to beeping, and that's without idling.
Welp, the invertor sadly had to be unplugged.

The Challenger and Kimmi Thank this.

A guy down the road from me drives for Smith. Seems to like it, and gets home a heck of a lot more than I do.

Be safe out there. I enjoy your posts and evertruckerr's. The divergence makes a good read. Crete seems pretty run of the mill. The extensive time away from home is too much of a commitment for this newbie trucker to sign on with the likes of Crete. Right now this 7-10 days out with is getting old. The $10K difference between $60-something and $50-something isn't a life changer. I'd gladly give it up to be home weekends and run by the house one day a week.

Not getting on you Crete drivers but my God, being gone so much to get a whiff of $60K doesn't seem worth it. I really hand it to you guys. That type of perseverance assures success - no matter where you work.

To answer my question from a few days ago, the answer is yes. I asked if Crete might higher me after one year since I failed a portion of my CDL test. They have a policy for new students that you must pass the whole test on the first try. Well, I got a call from the recruiter today checking to see how I did on my test. Since I failed, it was her suggestion that I could apply with them again within 6 months to a year with that much time at one other company. I didn't even have to ask.

I'm starting to like the Prostar, right now it's like a sickly baby now. Monday, the cruise and odometer wouldn't work and I was ungoverned :) :). I had to sit til Tuesday to get in a shop, on the way to International Tuesday the truck worked normal. So I didn't go.
Tuesday night, I hit the dealer in Knoxville, they put in a new "apu" (They stole one out of a brand new Crete truck because the night shift hadn't ever worked on one)It's working now, I'm not sure for how long because it's cold at night. Wednesday, I had a warning light flashing, 6 hours in another dealer.
Would have been nice if they gave us a book of International dealers.
    The OnGuard is so awesome,

I'd be more than happy to find them for you but I'm pressed for time. Some guy, several pages ago, posted a whole bunch of pictures of the inside and out of his Prostar. Good looking truck
