Nobody will pay you to be off at home. Nor does any driver I know expect to get paid for that.

What happens if that time has to be logged on duty the entire time?

When you are working on a truck. Mostly just applies to O/O's, but some companies let their employees work on the truck to save money.

I didn’t mean that. Lol I meant, Companies advertise or set a criteria for days off. You run the set of days that they require and when it comes time for you to get your days off that you’re promised, they’re nowhere to be found. You just keep running and running until the dispatcher decides to take a thumb out of his butt and push the button to finally give you a day off. It’s astonishing to me that companies haven’t been sued over this already.

If you own the truck that doesn't have to be on duty. If you choose to work on the truck that's your own doing. If the company is not telling you to do it they don't have to pay you to do it.

I used to wash my company truck whenever I went home for my 3 day break because I wanted it to look nice when I went back out and they were EXTREMELY frugal with streakin' beacon coupons. My company didn't tell me to do it and I was doing it in my own driveway. 100% off duty.

As stated in the OP, SCOTUS ruled that all time spent sitting at shippers and receivers should be paid at a rate commensurate to the federal minimum wage.
