Since you posted in the ltl section I'll mention you might be able to legally do 16 hours. There are a few provisios.
1. Can only use one a week, or since last reset.
2. Must start/stop in the same location for the last 5 days.
3. Can't drive after 16 hours.
I've used it to get back from breakdowns, but I never allowed the company to load plan with it in mind.Last edited: Jul 27, 2020

Every week when I was at XPO. Supervisors would even ask drivers if they wanted to burn there 16. That’s why my XPO career didn’t last too long.
