My recommendation would be to send the head bolt to ARP and see if they have a stud that will match or one that can be cut to the correct length.

I thought the same thing when I read it. Tensile strength and cut vs rolled threads and all of that is above my pay grade. Would I do it for a piece of my farm equipment? Sure, but not someone else's stuff or something on the road. The way I scabbed together the engine for my old Ford 555 would make even the crudest of engine builders cringe, but it still digs g̶r̶a̶v̶e̶s̶ , er uh, ditches on the farm lol.

Yeah that's kind of my thoughts. There's a lot of engineering that goes into a head stud. I don't have a huge knowledge of metalurgy to really know if it'd hold up any better or worse than a factory headbolt. I wouldn't want to use someone else's project as a testing ground.

ARP makes custom studs and head bolts all the time. They advertise that they have over 600 masters for head bolts.

I have ordered custom studs several times from ARP over the years. They may very well have an off-the-shelf bolt that can be easily modified to work in your situation.

I'm on down time in a sleepy desert town. I've been staying at a motel with superb air conditioning. Just kicking back for a few more days then return to the road. There's nothing to do here. Even before the Covid Crisis. I have my media devices for entertainment, a good book or two, and occasionally a drink of spirits. The truck stop is next to the motel. I'm a regular customer there. I walked past a truck at noon. Sleeper curtains pulled, engine idling of course. And an unmistakable smell coming from the cabin. Cush. Even if you bought it legally, why would anyone want to smoke it in a commercial vehicle?

I've seen cops on bicycles pull cars over. It won't do to laugh and drive away because he'll call it in and a radio car will nail them. Then they'll have a charge of evading as well as the initial violation.. Riding a bike on the job is fun.
Many years ago, I worked a security job at a big tourist attraction. I rode the bike most work days. Top tier mountain bike with 21 gears.

I was parked next to a driver a couple of weeks ago that smelled like a lit blunt the whole 10 hours he was parked next to me. I have nothing against marijuana at all. Some people can smoke all day and be fine and normal but I'm not certain that professional drivers should smoke joints like a pack of Marlboros. Maybe just back it down to a single joint while taking a 10 instead of looking like Cheech and Chong in the bunk. I sure as hell wouldn't smoke in a commercial vehicle knowing #### good and well that no air freshener or deodorizer is going to cover up the smell when DOT comes for an inspection.
