Was an owner operator for 23 years but leased to a carrier.. Came off the road for three years and drove for company. Got hurt had pain meds prescribed to me from acccident in 2008. Took one pill went back to work next day felt like crap dispatch send me to doctor. They drug tested me which was no big deal had no problem with it. Next day get a call i failed drug test. Lady said I had barely traceable amount of codine in my system. I said it was my medicine. I went to employer showed them the bottle they fired me saying that since it was an old script I violated DOT rule it was tylenol with codine.. I went filed appeal with FMCSA no dice. I went paid 2200.00 for SAP program completed it. Gonna go back on my own. Will the positive drug test keep me from getting my authority and loads

I don’t think it will keep you from getting authority. CDL would be the concern

How did the OP file an appeal?
Did he give evidence from the doctor stating that it was a prescribed medication?
Did he get a second test done on the sample? -
