Freightliner M2 Hood repair

It would be too easy - if you happened to have that piece?
I'm sure IF it got knocked out on the move, U ran over it.

Have you thought about re-creating it in fiberglass?
You have the hood radius above to copy on a cardboard template.
Cut it on that line and make a form from 3/4" plywood.
Take a strip that height, and keep cutting it vertically from the back
to weaken the structure to bend it. Screw it down from the back.
Grind the top edge of the plywood form to have glass matting
go over plywood thickness edge - for the lip to fasten it to.
Slop resin on it, let dry, do it 2 more times, and there's your piece.
Cut broken edge straight and measure and match yours w/other side. sand it out smooth and piss paint on it.
A Saturday afternoon and a case of beer outta do it!
Total cost less than 100 bucks; not 1500.00 for a hood.

And That's exactly what they did, just added that piece.
I have an 04 M2-106 w/just that same hood, but without the riser.

 

I had a 1957 VW bug that started out w/fiberglass fenders.
Got way crazy on the fiberglass fabrication and mod thing.
When I first started out, didn't know squat about it, still don't,
but when I was done I was an accomplished beginner.
Took the fenders and cut each of them and added 4" strips,
to make car 8" wider - to take Chevy wheel/tire combo.
Made a template of cardboard of nose profile under bumper.
Then took a broken truck bed cover and cut it to this shape.
Then glassed a garden hose into bottom edge for a lip.
Glassed it onto front so it was a air dam 3" off the ground.
Added stacked square headlight buckets from a Monte Carlo.
Fiberglass trunk lid had an L-88 Corvette scoop in it.
There were scoops you put on the sides behind rear windows.
I thought they looked cheezy, so I made my own, Drilled 3 holes
w/hole-saw and cut out sides under them, to make it functional.
And on and on.
(And - an on and off 10 year project, it was.)
