I am afraid you cannot escape Uberization for too long.
It is not only Uber but other brokers wanting to access your ELD too. Sooner or later they will ask for it also.
Section 8 is controversial but not entirely unethical or immoral. They simply ask for too much.
As long as they leave section 8 possible to opt out, I would not burn bridges with them, at least not yet. It is business and from time to time they can pay good rates too. When they pay, it is quick and firm. Why forfeit that opportunity of revenue?
Uber now wants ELD access

I am not sure but would not be surprised if that's the case. Also Google Maps might do the same and cooperate with Uber Eats.TheLoadOut Thanks this. -

And I would hope that everybody chooses to opt out of that clause.

Coyote was pushing me real hard last year on this section 8 stuff. The guy tried to tell me that after the load is completed they don't have access to the ELD anymore.
I called BigRoad and asked their tech guy if that were true, he just laughed and said the guy from Coyote was blowing smoke.
In reality, BigRoad has access to every place I go. They've started offering their own freight brokering service as well, so it would be real easy for them to leverage my runs.

I receive emails from JB Hunt almost daily about signing up for Project44 and how I'm missing out on shippers who are participating in the system.
TheLoadOut Thanks this.
