Uber now wants ELD access

Well.. whoever. It was still very schneiderish of them to want something like that from you.

I think I've only hauled one load for them in 5 years

 

The technological Octopus is not a creature designed and created by a specific group of people such as governments, masons, illuminaties or whatever other secret societies who are said to try to subdue the World to their liking or whatever conspiracy theories say. I don't even know much about them.
I see it as a spontaneous development of human nature - evolutionary product that is driven mostly by greed and want for more.
There is no stop to this motion. Trying to stop it is just as utopian as for a dozen of prairie dogs trying to stop a 200 wagon freight train loaded with iron ore.
What I did today by opting out from Uber section 8 was a little prairie dog attempt to stop that freight train. A little protest.

Obviously, I am bored and tired and having not much else to do but typing this while waiting for them to bring me the signed BOL.

So I opted out via email and here's what I wrote, anybody that wants to use it be my guest on their opting out as well.

"(Company Name) does not allow access or share private company information pertaining to drivers hours of service or location through the companies ELD. Issues of driver safety, cargo concerns, times of not being under an Uber load or driver off duty time are of no concern to Uber Freight.

Traditional forms of tracking are still acceptable either via email or app tracking but company ELD tracking is off limits to freight brokers."

And that's all I said.

 

Good job. So did you sign the new agreement or just opt out before signing it? I didn't pay much attention to it, when I saw that crap I just logged off. I have only hauled 2 or 3 loads for them in the last 2 yrs anyway.

 

I opted out before signing. I've been signed up for maybe a year, haven't pulled anything for them but I guess one day the time will come.
