Is this legal? I was idling while I was layed over in Denver for three days. Temps were in the 90’s.
Swift fired me since my idle skyrocketed.

That's crazy! They are the reason you were laid over..they said that's why they fired you?

JC1971 and meechyaboy Thank this. -
Now, go with a company that has APU's or allows idling.
How much experience do you have?
Which state do you live in?Last edited: Aug 8, 2020

Did the contract you signed state idling was a cause for termination? Or did they give you layover money and you chose to stay in the tractor? Doesn't seem to be passing the smell test here.
Coolbreeze100, Jslaven, Trucking in Tennessee and 2 others Thank this. -
So whats the rest of the story ? Swift doesnt fire you for idling. When i was there , i idled for a good 6 weeks straight, never turned the truck off, and was never a peep from the office about it. There was probably something else you did wrong.
Coolbreeze100, Brettj3876, Texas_hwy_287 and 13 others Thank this. -
