    Looking for input on CT CDL schools. I live near New Haven so it seems they are all about 30-45 min from me.

    I'm considering Allstate and heard elsewhere to stay away from NETTS.

    I checked out Allstate. They seemed the best. One on one training. Nice facility. NETTTS in Bridgeport is a war zone.

    What type trucking job do you want after graduation?
    Get all the endorsements before graduating, plus TWIC and Passport Card.

    I still need to figure that out.

    Right now I still have a full time job I plan on keeping. It's always good to have a backup career.

    I plan to get all endorsements possible since it would only help me in the future even if I don't use them all.

    If I could find a gig that would allow me to keep job and just Truck on Sat and Sunday that would be great.

    I might retire from current job in 3-4 years and this would be a new job.

    Something local or a 500 mile trip. Spend the night and then come back home gig would be ok.

    Not looking to travel the country.

    Still at the beginning and need to formulate questions I can ask current or retired truckers I know.

    CDL driver staffing agencies probably work with you.
    Can work when you want to.
    Trillium is one of many cdl driver staffing agencies.

    NETTTS had 2 in CT, one in Bridgeport, the other not far from the RI line, like in Sommers?

    is that one not there any more?

    yeah, i should have looked it up before i asked you. it is still there. when i worked for them, back in 2008/2009, (at the RI location) there was talk about closing the bridgeport location, as enrollment was way down. that IS an area i'd not want to go to myself. Sommers location was just barely holding it's own as well.

    but over the years, all i can think of is that the bridgeport location, got busier.

    It sure has. There was a murder right outside in the street last year, in the middle of the day. Crazy.
