    Hello.

It’s my three year plan to keep working my current job and lose weight and get healthy and get into trucking.

I plan on attending a local school and paying for it myself and trying to get a local job with foodservice or Coca Cola or running beer.

I have health problems and am very overweight.

6’5 450lbs. I have untreated sleep apnea, type 2 diabetes and HBP.

My question is, I can go to my local truckstop and there’s a nurse there who will pass you and give you a two year card no matter almost an health problem. I just want going to disclose them and get my card then license then try to get on local. Will I likely have to take another physical for the company or will the physical I get from her work? Just curious thanks.

    Any advice?

Some companies will accept the physical and some will require a new physical.
Company policies vary, company to company.
You can shop around for a company that doesn't require a new physical.
Simple phone call to companies and ask if a new physical is required or if they'll accept the one you have.

Do you know any OTR that don’t require a new physical?

Here's some, but call to be sure.
Some companies still check blood pressure, even if no new physical required.

Hey OP, SLOW down! If you don't mind let us know the general range of your blood pressure AND what your last A1C was! You can get CPAP after a sleep study on the OSA. You can get meds to help with the blood pressure. Being overweight is a problem, BUT NOWHERE near-fatal to getting a physical and a job!

Get the things you listed under control and you should be OK, just plan on a sleep study and CPAP! You will also have to get a physical every 12 months though!

It would be pretty negligent to get into this line of work with what you stated without at least getting a CPAP. One visit to the Dr and you can have bp meds that work well and don’t cost much/anything.

Here's a CPAP the VA is authorized to give to veterans. I posted "give", so maybe there's a co-pay; don't know for sure.

You need to drop a MINIMUM of 100lbs. 300lb bodyweight would be ideal. What is your plan to accomplish this? what is your current job? Do not give out your location because you do have people online who will snitch your truckstop practitioner out.

Foodservice pays better than Coke and beer. HOWEVER running off the ramp with a loaded hand truck can be dangerous if you're goofy. All of them will require you to have a good measure of health. You don't have to go OTR in order to get a local job. I started out local.

You might not lose much weight, the unloading a truck with a hand truck will get you in shape.since you are local now,get into a health club, or just start walking everyday, will help your BP

Idk what my A1C is but I’m on 2 BP pills a day and it’s under control for the most part except for I get nervous at the doctor.
