Why not pretrip it before and not rely on one? GPS systems are still getting people in trouble

The argument is pretty divided on this. I have both and prefer the Rand McNally hands down..just more user friendly for finding truck stops rest areas etc on your route. It's a great TOOL just don't rely on any of them
Hegemeister, firemedic2816 and Whatagal Thank this. -
With the history of Rand McNally products quality issues, the lack of updates, and the high price. I would not purchase one. Wonder how the class action lawsuit is going. Was for the tablet products.
Garmin and Tom-Tom are the only others. Not familiar with the newest Tom-Tom products. Know a few that have them, they seem happy with them. Personally, used Garmin for years. No quality problems and they update regularly. It is part of the tool box.Hegemeister, tscottme and Friend Thank this. -
learn to route yourself with a map book after a year or so get a gps if you want but not needed honestly
firemedic2816 Thanks this. -
I use Hammer (trucker app from this place) and Google Maps. No reason to buy a separate device.
akfisher Thanks this.
