How’s it going everyone. I have worked different roles in the trucking/transportation Industry for about ten years but not as a driver. So i have some familiarity with things. I got my cdl and I am going to drive for a company, but my goal was to drive for a year or so as a company driver then get my own truck, authority, etc. I know if I was new to the Industry some would say maybe more time as a company driver but I was hoping having had worked in the industry already would maybe make it possible to just get some driving experience before getting truck of my own. Thoughts?

Depends on alot of factors for me having a cdl b and think I was goin to waltz thru cdl A training backfired and i was like the 2nd to last to cross the line...and another 16 mts fired from 2 jobs and counting to figure out how to drive backwards....Id say if your a driving ace then go for it...as for me the next level is at least a year away....Nothing is promised out here...Every day is a crap shoot....Buckle up its def. the most challenging job ive ever had

My hope is that you have some mechanical knowledge, and have not just been working in the office all that time. Because in my experience, the really successful owner operators are the ones who know how to wrench on their own trucks.

That is the million dollar question. And it could be a million in profits or losses.
