14 hour days are enough! This will just mean longer days with less useful rest. I absolutely guarantee that the mega I work for would love the ability to give us these longer days on a regular basis. It will allow them to do even more lazy planning than they currently are now.
The FMCSA is taking driver comments. I’ll be doing so for sure.

What do people think about s company telling driver to extend his day when loading or unloading or you get fired. That's how it was on paper logs. They were not stupid they would not say that.
They would say if you can't get the load delivered on time that will count as service failure or late load. You get 3 late load and we have to let you go, because we have 97% or 98% on time delivery. That's how it was on paper logs. All the trucking companies did the same thing, plus try getting another job when you got fired for late loads.born&raisedintheusa and D.Tibbitt Thank this. -
I drove buses for 20 years, and bus HOS are slightly different, the biggest difference being we had a 15 hour clock that we could pause by going off duty. I worked some very long days!

As far as I’m concerned, compensation should be directly related to hos. Or vice versa.

If I'm correct just taking 3 hour off or in sleeper won't extend the 14 hour day. Not untill your have 7 hours in sleeper. So to get the benefits you would have get 7 hours in sleeper first to extend the 14 hour clock. Then you could drive more and finish the 10 hour break with 3 more hour off duty or sleeper.
If you sitting 3 hours at shipper and in sleeper you won't extend the 14 hours clock. Just like 8/2 split does not really benefit driver much today. If someone spends 7 hours at shipper and you are in sleeper 7 hours then the 7/3 would help some. I hope I don't have use it, I like keeping the same working hours most days. I can't see logging 7 hours sleeper for most drivers today. They basically make you leave once loaded or empty.
