Bishop, CA is my home town. On 395 between Bishop and Reno requires chains regularly in the winter months. Those steep grades can be treacherous in the snow.
where did you first chain up?

2:30 am, Wolf Creek Pass, snowing like a MoFo, UPS driver helped me with the first one (I'd done it once before in a heated shop while in CDL school), took me 45 minutes to put on 4 singles, I was cold and soaked. Come to think of it, it was also my first time going over Wolf Creek Pass.

Last year.
First Ontario, OR
Second North Powder, OR
Third La Grande, OR
That was the first 7 hours and 250 miles
Second 250 was reverse of that another 7 hours.
So 14 hours 6 x chaining. Of course I only have 6 tires total so I only have to chain outside dual. -
1987. I broke through the winter road. This unit came to give me a tug. They had equipment spotted 3 areas they figured would give me trouble, I found a 4th

First chained up on Donner summit near Truckee, ca. Me and my wife put em' on at like midnight. Cold, wet, and muddy. An hour later we had to take them back off.
